QUALIFIED PRACTITIONERS OF TCM

The Professional Register of Traditional Chinese Medicine (PRTCM) was established in 1983 to promote and protect the professional interests and medical standards of fully qualified practitioners of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and thereby to foster the highest available degree of health-care for the public.

Full Members of the PRTCM

Only well trained, fully qualified practitioners of Traditional Chinese Medicine can become Full members of the Professional Register of TCM. All such members are Acupuncturists, using acupuncture within the context of TCM. Some members are also qualified in other therapies of TCM, such as Chinese Herbal Medicine or Medical Qigong.

Full members are bound by a Code of Ethics and Code of Practice which is strictly enforced by the Council of the Register, thus offering a guarantee of confidence to any patient seeking treatment. They are also fully covered by a Medical Malpractice and Public Liability insurance, for practice in the Irish Republic and/or Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Associate Members of the PRTCM

These members are also fully-trained TCM professionals in the field of Acupuncture TCM and some are also qualified in other therapies of TCM, such as Chinese Herbal Medicine or Medical Qigong. However, they do not currently require Medical Malpractice and Public Liability insurance to practice in the Irish Republic and/or Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
